Bisinella Developments has renewed its sponsorship of the Committee for Geelong, reinforcing a partnership that has helped support regional leadership, advocacy and community development for more than a decade.
A member of the Committee for Geelong since 2013 and a Corporate Plus member for the past 10 years, Bisinella has played an active role in supporting the organisation's vision for a thriving, connected and prosperous Geelong.
Committee for Geelong Chief Executive Officer, Michael Johnston said the relationship had developed naturally through a shared commitment to the region's future.
"Bisinella has been an important part of the Committee for Geelong community for many years," Mr Johnston said. "Their involvement extends beyond sponsorship. They have actively contributed to strategic discussions and initiatives that support Geelong's long-term growth and prosperity."
Most recently, that shared commitment was demonstrated through collective leadership in opposing the proposed waste to energy facility in Lara, advocating for outcomes that reflect the interests of the broader community.
With more than 60 years of development experience in the Geelong region, Bisinella brings both industry expertise and a deep understanding of the communities in which it operates.
"As a family-run business that supports more than 20 local organisations, Bisinella has consistently demonstrated a commitment to creating positive community outcomes," Mr Johnston said.
"They align closely with our focus on building a thriving and inclusive city, which makes them a valued and trusted partner."
A key area of support has been the Committee for Geelong's Activate Leadership Program. Over more than a decade, Bisinella has helped support more than 20 participants through the program, contributing to the development of emerging leaders across business, government and the community sector.
Bisinella Developments Managing Director, Richard Bisinella said supporting organisations that strengthen Geelong's future is an important part of the company's commitment to the community.
"At Bisinella, we believe creating great communities extends beyond the developments we build," Mr Bisinella said.
"The Committee for Geelong plays an important role in bringing people together, advocating for the region and developing the leaders who will help shape Geelong's future. We are proud to continue supporting that work and to contribute to initiatives that create lasting benefits for the community."
Mr Johnston said investing in leadership development creates long-term benefits for the region.
"This investment in people has had a lasting ripple effect, helping strengthen leadership capacity across Geelong and ensuring the region has the talent and expertise needed for the future."
The company's commitment to the community was further recognised in 2024 when founder Lino Bisinella received the Committee for Geelong's prestigious Frank Costa Community Leadership Award for his decades of contribution to the region.
Looking ahead, Mr Johnston said partnerships with organisations such as Bisinella will continue to play an important role in shaping Geelong's future.
"Local businesses bring on the ground knowledge, long-term accountability and a genuine stake in the region's success," he said.
"Their continued involvement helps ensure Geelong grows well, creating stronger communities, sustainable development and opportunities for future generations."
